In this activity, you will explore the community mental health services framework regarding needs and availability. (350 min.)

Step 1: Prepare a mental health intervention after an emergency, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, based on the needs you chose in Question 2 - Peer Activity #3, to be implemented in your country/region. (This assignment is a continuation of the community mental health services framework evaluation you performed in Peer Activity #3.)  You can use the Building Back Better: Sustainable mental health care after emergencies report from WHO as a reference.

Step 2: Prepare a 700- 900 word document establishing the defining characteristics of your chosen need, the desired outcomes, the planned interventions, and the evaluation methods to be applied. You should answer the following questions and any other you might have:

• Which mental health necessities of the population suffering from an emergency must be reckoned?

• How can local professionals promote and encourage mental health reforms, and how can they transmit their recommendations at a national level?

• What is the role of the government during an emergency, and in terms of mental health, which coordination measures must it lead towards improving after a crisis?

• What is the role of individual or communal advocacy to plan long-term sustainable interventions?

• Which benefits can the implementation of demonstration projects bring to mental health reforms after an emergency?
