This module focuses on the emotional, social, and psychological effects of outbreaks and how community health workers can provide basic support and care for themselves and others.Learning Objectives
By the end of this module, participants will be able to:
- Explain the impact of infectious disease outbreaks, including BVD and Ebola, on mental, social, and emotional well-being
- Identify groups of people with additional mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) needs during a BVD or Ebola outbreak
- Explain MHPSS tools that can be used in emergency settings; and
- Follow self-care practices during a BVD or Ebola response.
