Welcome to the Global Solutions for Peace, Equality, and Sustainability: Building a More Just World. This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the proposals for reform or replacement of the United Nations (UN), guided by the open-access book Global Governance and the Emergence of Global Institutions for the 21st Century. It provides an opportunity for participants to probe the worldviews of the UN’s founders and their intentions to ensure that the great powers of 1945 would continue to hold power and explore how reforming the UN can potentially benefit a new and ever-changing world.
This course is designed to help learners from diverse backgrounds:
- Understand the built-in flaws of the UN
- Explore proposals for reform or replacement of the UN
- Apply the knowledge gained
