It is very likely that spirometry for diagnosis and many of the medications for COPD will be hard to access in the setting of a low- or middle-income country, but this will nevertheless give an overview of best practices. If appropriate, you can discuss with your peers and your mentor how to best address the difficulties in accessing adequate assessment and management tools, drugs, and other support for this condition, or any other of the comorbidities or complications associated with substance use disorders.
